Antony Morgan was born in Cygnet, Tasmania and after early training as a
cellist, studied with John Kennedy in Melbourne and has since spent most of
his life sitting behind a cello. He has had significant roles in orchestras from
New Zealand to London including the Royal Philharmonic, the Sydney
Symphony and most Australian state orchestras.
Since returning to his roots he has graduated to double bass and plays in the
Hobart Chamber Orchestra and HuonCelli
He also enjoys the occasional jazz gig.
