Lucy Carrig

Lucy Carrig, Violin

Lucy Carrig began playing the violin at age of 4 and went on to study with Beryl Kimber
and William Hennessey in her home city of Adelaide before heading off to study with
Stelios Kafantaris in Germany. During this time, Lucy represented Australia in
the Jeunesse Musicales World Orchestra with whom she toured much of Europe and
Canada.
At age 22 Lucy returned to Australia to take up the position of Principal Second violin in
the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra. Two years later she joined the Tasmanian
Symphony Orchestra (TSO), also as Principal Second violin.
Lucy has appeared as soloist with the TSO, Adelaide Chamber Orchestra, Hobart
Chamber Orchestras and is a member of the Australian World Orchestra. She has
played as a guest principal violin in various Australian Orchestras and performs
regularly as a chamber musician in Tasmania. She has toured across Tasmania with TSO
chamber groups and other ensembles including Virtuosi and the Elanée Ensemble.
